transit.bg makes public transport easier to use, but it cannot guarantee that everything it shows is correct and up to date. Keep this in mind, especially before an important journey.
An independent service
transit.bg is not a transport operator, a public authority or a ticket seller. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of any operator, municipality or BDZ. Operator, network and line names are used only to identify their services. For official information, fares, tickets and complaints, contact the operator.
Timetables
Timetables come from the files the operators publish (GTFS) and are refreshed every day. transit.bg shows them as published and only tidies names for display, so if a file is late, incomplete or wrong, what you see here is too.
Operators change timetables at short notice — for roadworks, holidays or events — and a change may reach transit.bg only after it has taken effect. The timetable at the stop and the operator's own announcements take precedence.
Live departures and vehicles
Live times and vehicle positions are estimates calculated from the data the operators' vehicles send. They can be delayed, jump or disappear — for example when a GPS unit loses its signal — and a vehicle can leave earlier than predicted. Where there is no live data, transit.bg shows the scheduled time and marks it as such.
Journey plans
Journey plans are calculated automatically from the timetables and the map. A suggested route does not guarantee that you will make a connection, or that a walking route is open and safe. Walking and transfer times are estimates, so allow extra time, especially when you have to change.
Service alerts
transit.bg shows only the alerts that operators publish in their data. Many changes are announced only at stops, on the operator's website or in local media, so the absence of an alert does not mean there is no disruption.
Accessibility information
Where an operator publishes it, transit.bg shows whether a stop is wheelchair accessible. This information can be missing or out of date — a lift may be out of order, for example — so if you depend on it, check with the operator before you travel.
Maps, addresses and your location
Map data comes from OpenStreetMap contributors, and address search from a geocoder built on that data; both can be incomplete or out of date. Stop positions come from the operators. Your own position comes from your device and can be tens of metres off, or more.
Availability
transit.bg can be slow, unavailable or changed without notice — during maintenance, or when an operator's data or a service it relies on is down. Without a connection you see only what is saved on your device, without live times.
Links to other sites
Links to operators and other websites are there for convenience. transit.bg does not control those sites and is not responsible for their content, their availability or how they handle your data.
Limitation of liability
You use the information on transit.bg at your own discretion. To the extent permitted by law, transit.bg is not liable for any loss caused by relying on it or by the service being unavailable, such as a missed connection, lost time or an extra taxi fare. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. The terms and conditions apply to all use of transit.bg.
Seen a mistake?
Please tell us: the contact page says what helps us find it. Errors in a timetable usually have to be corrected by the operator at the source. The operator's contacts, where it publishes them, are on its city's page under Cities.
