Mobile app

transit.bg on your phone

Native apps for Android and iOS are in development. Until they arrive, you can install transit.bg as a web app — it takes a few seconds and needs no app store.

Install the web app now

The web app is the same transit.bg, installed from your browser. It gets its own icon, opens without the browser's address bar and stays up to date automatically.

  • Starts from the home screen like any other app, full-screen.
  • Works with a weak connection: pages you have opened and saved timetables load even offline.
  • Small and always current: no store downloads, every update arrives automatically.
  • No account: nothing to sign up for — the same as the website.

If no install button appears, your browser does not offer one-click installation — follow the steps for your device below.

Android (Chrome)

  1. Open transit.bg in Chrome.
  2. Tap the ⋮ menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Choose Install app (or Add to Home screen).
  4. Confirm with Install. The transit.bg icon appears on your home screen and in the app list.

iPhone and iPad (Safari)

  1. Open transit.bg in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up).
  3. Scroll down and choose Add to Home Screen.
  4. Tap Add. transit.bg now opens from its own icon, full-screen.

On iOS 16.4 and later you can also do this from Chrome, Edge or Firefox through their Share menu.

Computer (Chrome or Edge)

  1. Open transit.bg in Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
  2. Click the install icon at the right end of the address bar (a monitor with an arrow), or open the browser menu and choose Install transit.bg (in Edge: Apps → Install this site as an app).
  3. Confirm with Install. transit.bg opens in its own window and can be pinned to the taskbar or Dock.

Android and iOS apps

We are working on apps for Android and iOS with the same lines, live departures and map. This page will link to the stores as soon as the apps are published.

  • Android Coming soon
  • iPhone and iPad Coming soon

Every city, line and stop on transit.bg has a permanent address, for example transit.bg/en/sofia. Once the native apps are available, these links will open straight in the app when it is installed, and in the browser otherwise — so the links you save or share today will keep working.
